The Letter from My Future Self

The Letter from My Future

This morning felt like any other. Birds chirping outside, sunlight sneaking through the window, and my alarm buzzing just loud enough to ruin a dream I didn’t remember. I stretched, yawned, and sat up on my bed—until I noticed it.

There was a letter on my desk. Not an email. Not a text. A real, physical letter. My name was written on the envelope—in handwriting that strangely looked like mine, only older. I picked it up, heart thumping slightly, and opened it.

> “Dear Me,”

If you’re reading this, then you still have time. Today, you will make a choice. It might seem small, but it will change everything.

Don’t ignore the stranger who asks you for help.

Trust your gut.

And remember, not every opportunity is worth taking.

Sincerely,

You.

(10 years from now)

My fingers trembled slightly as I read the words again. Was it a prank? A dream? I didn’t know. But the warning echoed in my head all day.

At school, everything felt… different. A stranger actually did ask me for help finding a class. And I remembered the letter. I helped him. Later, I found out he was a journalist visiting to feature our school’s top students. Because I helped him, he ended up interviewing me.

That one small act gave me a chance to share my story with thousands. And all because of one mysterious letter.

I still don’t know how it got there. But one thing is certain—sometimes, life gives you signs. You just have to be brave enough to read them.
